Hay Fever Treatment

Hay Fever Treatment and Rhinolight Treatment differ in approach and suitability. Hay Fever Treatment involves a single-dose medication that provides season-long relief within 1–48 hours but is only available for adults aged 18 and above.

What it is?

The hay fever Treatment can reduce symptoms of hay fever for the entire season. If you have previously been administered other treatments to combat hay fever, such as oral antihistamine tablets, topical eye drops, one solution to alleviate your hay fever symptoms is to get the hay fever shot. This is a steroid treatment, recommended for those who have severe symptoms

How does it work?

During your appointment, our healthcare professionals will take the time to detail the benefits as well as the side effects of the recommended medicine. They will make sure that this is the right treatment for you, assessing whether other treatments might be best suitable for your needs.
The hay fever shot is administered intramuscularly and the effects will start working within one to 48 hours after having the dose.

How Effective Are The Treatments?

The effectiveness of hay fever treatment can vary from person to person, as each individual’s response to the treatment can differ. The doctor could recommend a second dose during an appointment based on the specific needs and responses of the individual.

Rhinolight Treatment

Rhinolight is a pain-free light therapy targeting allergy-causing cells, reducing symptoms of allergies and sinusitis. It requires at least six sessions for effectiveness and is suitable for both adults and children.

At Midland Health, we offer Rhinolight treatment for hay fever and other allergies that cause rhinitis symptoms. This UV light therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free solution suitable for both children and adults, particularly when sprays or steroids are ineffective.

With a success rate of up to 90% and noticeable improvement from the first session, Rhinolight is a popular choice for year-round allergy relief.

What are the Benefits?

While no treatment can guarantee complete symptom relief, Rhinolight phototherapy has been shown to be highly effective for many patients. Most individuals experience a noticeable reduction in hay fever symptoms within the first two weeks of treatment. Completing the full course over a month provides lasting relief, and follow-up booster sessions every 2-3 months help maintain the benefits.

FAQS

Hayfever treatments are recommended for anyone who suffers from hayfever symptoms, such as a runny nose, red/watery eyes, sneezing, etc. Unlike over-the-counter allergy tablets, the hayfever treatment provides a long-term relief that lasts the whole season.

Hayfever treatments are not recommended for:

If you regularly experience hayfever symptoms every year, you should consider getting the hayfever treatment before the start of the season. You can also have a hayfever treatment at any time after the appearance of hayfever symptoms.

Usually, you can feel the positive effects of the hayfever treatment within 48 hours but it may take up to 10 days to see the full results.

The Hayfever treatment can be an effective relief of hayfever symptoms for up to 6 months.

In most cases, one dose of the Hayfever treatment is enough to suppress the symptoms of hayfever. However, in more severe cases, the symptoms may persist. If that happens, you could opt in to have a second dose which can be administered a minimum of 14 days after the first. The price of the second Hayfever treatment is also £80.
