How We Can Help

We specialise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of thyroid conditions, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, goitre, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer. Our consultant endocrinologists work closely with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your health.

We also provide expert care for related conditions such as parathyroid disorders and offer support for other hormonal imbalances that may be impacting your thyroid function. Our team is committed to delivering top-tier care, combining medical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Do I Need an Appointment?

Booking an appointment with our private consultant endocrinologist is an important step toward understanding and managing your thyroid health. It's essential to seek professional advice when you experience any of the following symptoms or conditions:

Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) may cause fatigue, sluggishness, or a general feeling of being drained, even after a full night’s sleep. Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) can lead to nervousness, restlessness, or feelings of excess energy that are difficult to control.

Gaining weight without changing your diet or exercise routine could signal hypothyroidism, while hyperthyroidism may cause unexplained weight loss despite normal or increased appetite.

Dry, brittle hair, thinning hair, or slow-growing nails may indicate a thyroid imbalance, particularly hypothyroidism. Conversely, hyperthyroidism might cause your hair to become soft, thin, or fall out more easily.

Constipation that doesn’t improve with diet changes could point to an underactive thyroid.

If you experience frequent diarrhoea or find that your bowel movements are more urgent or frequent than normal, it might suggest an overactive thyroid.

Feeling unusually depressed, anxious, or having difficulty concentrating could be linked to thyroid dysfunction, especially hypothyroidism, which can cause mental fog and irritability.

Women who experience irregular periods, heavy menstrual flow, or missed periods may have thyroid-related concerns. An overactive thyroid can cause infrequent periods, while an underactive thyroid can lead to heavier, more frequent periods.

If you notice a lump or swelling in the neck, it could be a sign of an enlarged thyroid (goitre) or thyroid nodules, which require professional evaluation to rule out conditions such as thyroid cancer or benign growths.

If thyroid disease runs in your family, it’s a good idea to schedule regular check-ups with an endocrinologist, especially if you start to notice symptoms of thyroid imbalance.

After childbirth, women may experience thyroid-related issues, such as postpartum thyroiditis or thyroid dysfunction, which can lead to mood swings, fatigue, and other related symptoms.

Even if you haven’t noticed any symptoms, it’s still valuable to consult with an endocrinologist if you have concerns about your thyroid health. Regular check-ups and blood tests can catch potential issues before they become more serious.

Our experienced surgeons use the latest minimally invasive techniques to ensure the procedure is as safe and effective as possible, with a focus on preserving thyroid function where possible.

Salivary Gland Surgery

Occasionally, thyroid problems can be linked to issues with the salivary glands. We provide expert salivary gland surgery to treat conditions like salivary gland stones or chronic infections, ensuring optimal care and recovery.

Neck Surgery

In some cases, surgery may be required to address thyroid-related growths or to improve the appearance of the neck after thyroid issues have been treated. Our surgeons are skilled in performing precise, minimally invasive neck procedures to help patients restore both health and confidence.

FAQ

A visit to a thyroid clinic typically involves an initial consultation with a consultant endocrinologist who will review your symptoms and medical history. You may undergo blood tests, thyroid scans, or ultrasound imaging to assess your thyroid function and structure. Depending on your condition, treatment options such as medication, lifestyle advice, or surgery will be discussed.

At an endocrinologist appointment, your consultant will discuss your symptoms in detail, review any previous medical records, and order relevant tests to assess thyroid function. These might include blood tests to check hormone levels (e.g. TSH, T4, T3), ultrasound imaging, or biopsy. Your endocrinologist will then discuss possible treatment options, including medications or surgery, and help you decide on the most appropriate approach.
