What's Included In Your Childs Health Check?

Your child’s check-up will include the following:

• A 45-minute appointments with one of our Paediatric Consultants
• Full medical history and examination of your child, checking vaccination status up to date
• Review of your child’s developmental milestones
• The opportunity to discuss any developmental or behavioural concerns – if need be, we can make a referral to our neurodevelopmental consultants
• Height and weight will be plotted on growth charts
• Observations of your child’s blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
• Urine dipstick examination to check for glucose, blood, and protein
• There will also be the opportunity to discuss any additional bloods or scans with our paediatricians and, if appropriate, they will organise these at Midland Health or externally. It is worth noting, additional fees will apply for these and they will be discussed with you during your child’s appointment.

If additional tests, scans, or investigations are recommended, our team will organise these for you at Midland Health or with trusted external providers. Any additional fees will be discussed with you during your appointment.

Immunisation

During your child’s health check-up, our paediatricians can also help advise and ensure your child’s vaccinations are up-to-date. With your consent, they can help coordinate the administration of vital vaccines to help get your child’s immune system boosted and strong.

Prices

Please note: All paediatric patients will need to see our Health Care Assistant (HCA) ahead of this appointment for a general observation and urine dip. For the health check-up, please can you ensure you bring in a sample of your child’s urine sample on the day, or provide one at the end of your appointment with our HCA.
