With the help of our cutting-edge Lumina machine, our specialists can offer a wide range of aesthetic treatments. We are proud to be able to offer:
Laser Hair Removal
There are a plethora of ways to remove unwanted hair from your body and face - whether that be the jawline, upper lip, underarms, bikini area, legs or even the stomach. However, traditional hair removal methods do not provide long-lasting results. Laser hair removal, on the other hand, can slow down the regrowth of hair. Not only that, but it can also cause the hair to become finer and less visible.
With the help of our revolutionary, medical-grade laser hair removal technology, we can convert concentrated light energy into heat. As a result, the root of the hair below the surface of the skin is damaged, slowing down the growth of the hair follicle.
With time, it is natural for the face to lose some of its youthfulness. At Midland Health, we take a preventative approach to skin rejuvenation treatments. Using an innovative combination of medical-grade skin rejuvenation machines and specialist skincare, the IllumiFacial is the successor of the very popular ‘PhotoFacial’. This treatment is designed to help boost collagen and reduce redness and discolouration. Our IllumiFacials do more than just treat the superficial layer of the skin, they also activate deeper skin tissue, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
Our medical practitioner will begin by removing any impurities with a specific formulation. Then, a Tri-Fruit Acid Peel is applied to decongest the pores and remove any damaged outer layers of skin. Following this, the skin is now ready for the IPL procedure, which promotes the building of collagen and targets any discolouration. To ensure the best possible results, the practitioner will apply a trio of advanced serums to the targeted area.
Acne is a common skin condition caused by oil and bacteria. When sebaceous glands in the deeper layer of skin produce too much sebum, the excess sebum mixes with dead skin cells, causing the pores to clog and become infected by bacteria. As a result, spots begin to appear on the skin. In some cases, the skin can flare up and even become hot or painful to touch. So understandably, many people look to eliminate their acne.
With our state-of-the-art IPL technology, we can target overactive sebaceous glands, helping to reduce sebum production and the possibility of future breakouts. Our practitioners can also help to improve inflammation, using controlled thermal heat to eliminate acne-causing bacteria.
Resurface Skin Treatments
Laser resurfacing has been touted as one of the most effective skin rejuvenation treatments. Whether you are looking to tighten your skin, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce discolouration or even smooth the texture of your skin, our specialist medical practitioners can help with our state-of-the-art fractional laser system.
Skin rejuvenation provides a non-surgical solution to removing the damaged outer layers of skin. This helps to boost the production of new skin cells and collagen without the need for invasive procedures. Our skin rejuvenation treatments are also ideal for treating surgical scars, stretch marks and even post-inflammatory acne scars.
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition in which increased blood flow to the skin’s surface causes red patches, visible blood vessels and facial flushing. It can be accompanied by dry patches, pus-filled bumps and the hot feeling of the skin. At Midland Health, we take a compassionate and medical-led approach to treating rosacea. We understand that this condition can make your skin more sensitive. That is why we offer a variety of aesthetic treatments to address your concerns and ensure that your skin is protected.
Exposure to the sun and poor lifestyle choices can increase melanin production, resulting in hyperpigmentation (more pigment). At Midland Health, we offer aesthetic treatments that are designed to eliminate and minimise melanin pigmentation and reduce discolouration. Our revolutionary IPL treatments can help to remove unwanted brown and red spots, leaving you with clearer and more even skin.
Conditions such as facial thread veins, spider naevi and rosacea can result in the appearance of visible thread or broken veins on the surface of your skin. Using IPL, our practitioners can produce short laser light impulses to eliminate unnecessary veins and reduce flushing.
Stretch marks are a very common form of scarring that occurs when the skin stretches rapidly over time. Our expert medical practitioners can treat stretch marks and scars with a range of aesthetic treatments, including fractional laser resurfacing.
Midland Health offers specialised aesthetic treatments to direct calculated pulses of light energy to the leg vessel being treated. This heats up the blood inside the vessel, causing the vessel of the wall to collapse. The vessels are absorbed naturally by white blood cells.
As fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) can easily spread, it is important to treat the fungus as soon as possible. Our practitioners will use lasers to direct pulses of heat-producing energy to the nail bed of the infected nail, sterilising the area and preventing the growth of new fungal spores. The laser also emits light, which works to treat the infection without damaging the nail or surrounding skin.
Our Revolutionary Technology
At Midland Health, we strive to only use the latest advancements in aesthetic medicine. That is why we use Lyton’s award-winning, professional Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machine, LUMINA. The LUMINA machine combines multiple aesthetic technologies in one, creating a stand-alone, comprehensive aesthetic platform that can be used to carry out an extensive range of aesthetic treatments, including skin rejuvenation.

What other treatments are considered aesthetic?

Is IPL/LASER Hair Removal treatment permanent?
We all have hair follicles that have not yet produced hair and can start to do so at any time, as hair also has different stages of growth. For these reasons, a treatment course is recommended, although for some this treatment may be ongoing. IPL and LASER treatments however are the gold standard for removing or reducing (making hair much finer and manageable) unwanted hair on people who are suitable e.g. have colour in the hair. Hormonal hair can be trickier to treat as can darker skin types, occasionally some people do not respond as satisfactorily as we would hope, thankfully this is rare and for many people, this treatment is life-changing.
What is the minimum age for IPL/LASER treatment?
We recommend clients should be at least 16 years of age for IPL and LASER treatments. We recommend a parent/guardian be present and we would also recommend that intimate areas are never treated by anyone under the age of 18.
Can I be treated if I am of a darker skin type?
For all treatments, we use Fitzpatrick skin typing, which looks at the melanin content of a client’s skin and considers how the skin reacts to the sun, how quickly the skin tans and the ethnic background of the client. The darker the skin type, the longer the wavelength required. Some skin chromophores are very shallow and so will need shorter wavelengths which are not suitable for darker skin types.
Can I be treated for hair removal or skin rejuvenation if I have a tattoo or semi-permanent lip liner?
You cannot be treated over a tattoo. The IPL/LASER would be attracted to the colour which would burn the client, spoil the tattoo, and in the case of semi-permanent make-up cause a colour shift, e.g. change the lip liner to black and potentially burn and cause scarring.
I have had Anti Wrinkle Injections/Filler/Thread lift. Can I be treated over the area with IPL/LASER?
We recommend waiting 2 weeks after Anti Wrinkle Injections or superficial hyaluronic acid injectable fillers such as Restylane before carrying out an IPL/LASER procedure. We don’t carry out treatment over any injectable product that is considered to be semi-permanent or permanent, such as Radiesse and Sculptra. If you have had thread lifts, we advise you to wait 6 months before carrying out IPL/LASER treatment.
Can I treat over breast implants?
We wouldn’t advise treating over a breast implant, especially if it’s above the muscle. This is not because there is any evidence that IPL/laser can cause issues, but implants can be problematic for a host of reasons, so the best practice is to avoid aesthetic treatments in these areas.
