Gential Warts Testing

Genital warts are a common sexually-transmitted disease in the UK. Spread by direct skin contact, they can appear around the genitals or anus and are caused by a viral skin infection. Genital warts may take months to appear after they have been caught so it can be hard to pin point whom they were contracted from.

Genital warts do not necessarily lead to complications; however, they can become uncomfortable if inflamed. There are a number of treatments available for genital warts including cryotherapy and liquids/ creams. Your GP can check for genital warts as part of your comprehensive sexual health check-up.
