Your care at Midland Health’s Private Memory Clinic is led by Dr Nibha Gupta, a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry with over 20 years of experience.
Dr Nibha Gupta (MBBS, Dip Psychiatry, MRCPsych, AC)
Dr Gupta combines advanced medical expertise with a compassionate, holistic approach. She specialises in the assessment and management of dementia (including Alzheimer’s, vascular and Lewy body), mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic conditions and capacity assessments.
Trained in Wales and the Midlands, Dr Gupta has been a consultant since 2015, earning awards such as the Cloake Gold Medal for presentation in Psychiatry and multiple teaching accolades. She is an Approved Clinician, DoLS assessor, and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Medical Association.

How to Find Our Memory Clinic
Our Memory Clinic is based at the Francis Road Clinic (78–79 Francis Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B16 8SP), a modern, purpose-built centre offering private healthcare in a calm, comfortable setting.
If you’re driving, patients can use the Broadway Plaza car park free of charge for up to 2 hours when their vehicle registration is validated at Midland Health reception.
We’re easy to reach by public transport too. Regular buses (35, 50, 80 and X8) stop a short walk from Francis Road. Fiveways Station is about 15 minutes on foot, and the Edgbaston Village tram stop is also nearby.

If you’re noticing persistent forgetfulness, confusion, difficulty concentrating or changes in behaviour, or you’re worried about a loved one, a private assessment can provide clarity and peace of mind. Families are welcome to book on behalf of someone else.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
No. You can contact our Birmingham clinic directly to arrange an appointment, no referral or paperwork required.
How soon can I be seen?
We typically offer appointments within just a few days, far quicker than most NHS services. Same-week slots are often available.
What’s included in the assessment package?
Your package covers everything you need for an accurate diagnosis under one roof: a full consultation, cognitive screening, blood tests, ECG and appropriate brain scans. PET or other specialist scans can be added if recommended (at an additional charge).
How long does the process take?
Most people complete their initial testing and MRI within one or two visits. We then arrange a follow-up appointment to go through your results and recommendations in detail.
Will my results be kept private?
Yes, all assessments are conducted in a confidential setting, and your records are stored securely. We only share information with your consent.
Can I continue my care on the NHS afterwards?
Absolutely, we can set up shared-care arrangements with your GP and local NHS dementia teams so you have ongoing support and access to dementia nurses if needed.
