Shingles

Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes Chicken Pox, however, can re-occur in repeated bouts. Symptoms include fever and a rash. Most people recover naturally, however, shingles may lead to complications for those with an already compromised immune system e.g. older adults. It is therefore recommended only for adults over the age of 49 years. The vaccine is administered as a 2-dose course.
