Female Menopause

Home > Health Check Ups > Female Menopause

Menopause is a natural biological process marking the end of a woman's reproductive years. It usually occurs in midlife, typically around the age of 45 to 55, although the exact timing can vary. During menopause, a woman's ovaries gradually produce fewer reproductive hormones, such as oestrogen and progesterone, leading to the end of menstrual periods and the end of fertility. This transition can bring about various physical and emotional changes due to hormonal fluctuations, including symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and changes in weight gain (caused by a slowing of the metabolism).

If you think you may be experiencing menopausal symptoms, why not book a check-up with one of our qualified women’s health GPs or Gynaecologists?
