An x-ray produces an image of the body using bursts of high energy radiation. An x-ray will be recommended to make assessment of damage to bone and some soft tissue. It is important that you leave any valuables at home and do not wear clothes with metal zips/ hooks to avoid the need to change into a specialist gown.
