We understand that tattoos can become unwanted for many reasons, whether it’s a change in personal preference, a cover-up plan, a reminder you would rather not keep, or simply wanting your tattoo to be less visible.
At Midland Health, we offer private laser tattoo removal at our Birmingham-based clinic, focused on careful assessment, clear planning, and realistic expectations. You don't need a GP referral to see us, and with no long waiting lists, you can start your journey whenever you are ready.
Choosing tattoo removal is rarely just about the tattoo itself. Many people come to us feeling uncertain. You might be worried about discomfort, concerned about scarring, or simply unsure if your tattoo can be removed effectively. We understand those worries, and our aim is to make your first step feel clear, unhurried, and fully supportive.
Your journey with us starts with a private consultation. We’ll look closely at your tattoo, your skin type, and any health considerations that may affect treatment. We’ll then talk you through how laser removal works, how sessions are usually spaced, and anything you need to be aware of before starting.
This gives you the space to ask questions and move forward at your own pace, knowing you’re being guided carefully throughout the process.
If you are considering tattoo removal or fading but feel unsure about what is realistic, booking an appointment is often a helpful first step.
Many patients hesitate because they are uncertain whether laser treatment is suitable for their tattoo, how long the process might take, or what the treatment actually involves. A consultation is simply a chance to talk things through. We’ll take the time to answer your questions and offer expert guidance, so you can decide what feels right for you, in your own time.
You may wish to book an appointment if you are:
An appointment gives you clear, honest guidance, so you can decide whether tattoo removal feels right for you, now or at a later stage.
Your tattoo removal consultation begins with an assessment. This allows us to understand your tattoo, your skin, and what you are hoping to achieve before any decisions are made.
Your appointment may involve:
It’s completely normal to feel uncertain about tattoo removal, especially when you are unsure what is achievable or what the process involves. The focus of the consultation is to answer your questions clearly and give you the space to understand your options, so you can decide on a sensible next step with confidence.
Price per session. Most tattoos require approximately six sessions, spaced six weeks apart. 10% package discount available when booking six sessions.

Emma Conway is an experienced laser practitioner who has worked in patient-facing healthcare settings since 2017. She began her career in a busy NHS maternity environment, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care, communication, and supporting individuals through sensitive and personal decisions.
Over time, Emma chose to focus her practice on laser treatments, combining her healthcare background with a growing interest in treatments that support confidence and wellbeing. She went on to establish her own laser clinic in 2023 and now provides laser services at Midland Health.
Emma’s approach is calm, professional, and assessment-led. She takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and ensure expectations are realistic and well understood before proceeding. Her focus is always on safety, suitability, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their care.

Your first appointment is a detailed, one-to-one consultation designed to give you clarity. It is a chance to ask questions and raise concerns in a calm, supportive setting.
During your appointment, we will:
You will leave with a clear understanding of your options and plenty of time to decide if you are ready to move forward.
Laser tattoo removal is typically delivered as a planned course of treatment rather than a single session. Our care extends beyond the treatment room to ensure you get the best possible results.
We carefully plan your course of treatment to suit your skin’s recovery needs. During your follow-up sessions, you can expect:
Deciding to remove a tattoo is a personal choice, and it’s important to feel confident in who you trust with your skin.
Our approach is careful and considered. We start with a thorough assessment, take time to explain your options clearly, and plan treatment around your skin and realistic outcomes. Patients choose us for tattoo removal because we offer:

Laser tattoo removal works by using focused light energy to target tattoo ink within the skin. The laser breaks the ink into smaller particles, which the body can then gradually clear over time. With repeated laser tattoo removal sessions, the tattoo typically fades.
Laser tattoo removal sessions are typically spaced several weeks apart. This allows time for skin recovery and helps your practitioner assess how the tattoo is responding before continuing treatment.
Laser tattoo removal can significantly fade or remove many tattoos, but complete removal cannot be guaranteed. Results vary depending on the tattoo and individual skin response. Your assessment is designed to help you understand what outcomes may be realistic for you.
When carried out by an experienced practitioner using appropriate laser technology, laser tattoo removal is considered safe. Suitability is assessed before treatment, and skin health is prioritised throughout your care.
Most tattoos need a course of sessions, and a common estimate is around 6. That said, the range can be wider depending on the tattoo and your skin. At your assessment, we’ll look at factors that usually affect the number of sessions, such as:
Most people describe discomfort during treatment, but the intensity varies by tattoo location, ink density, and personal sensitivity. During your assessment, we’ll talk through what to expect and what comfort measures are available in-clinic.
Laser tattoo removal can be used on many coloured tattoos, although some colours respond more readily than others. Your practitioner will discuss how your tattoo’s colours may respond during your assessment.
Laser tattoo removal can be suitable for a range of skin types, but individual assessment is important. Your skin type and healing considerations will be reviewed before treatment is recommended.
Scarring after laser tattoo removal is uncommon, but it can occur in some cases. Risks and aftercare will be explained during your appointment so you can make an informed decision.
Yes. Laser tattoo removal is often used to fade an existing tattoo before a cover-up. During your consultation, you can discuss this goal and how many sessions may be helpful.
