Rotavirus is a stomach infection, that causes severe diarrhoea and usually affects young children. For some, sickness may pass naturally in a few days, but rotavirus can lead to hospitalization due to complications such as dehydration.
The rotavirus vaccine has reduced cases by 69% since 2013 and is recommended in a two-stage oral dose for babies at 8 and 12 weeks.
