Private Tinnitus Clinic in Birmingham

Home > ENT > Private Tinnitus Clinic

If you’re living with persistent ringing, buzzing, or whooshing in your ears, you don’t need to wait months to be heard. Our private tinnitus clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham, offers direct access to a consultant ENT specialist, no GP referral required, and no waiting list.

Many NHS patients currently face waiting times of six to twelve months for an initial ENT or audiology appointment. At our private clinic, we understand how distressing tinnitus can be, so we offer appointments within days, giving you reassurance and a clear plan for recovery without delay.

We combine medical expertise, cutting-edge technology, and compassionate, individualised care to help you take control of your tinnitus and your quality of life.

Do I Need an Appointment?

You should consider booking an appointment if:

  • The sound has lasted more than a few days or weeks
  • It is worsening or constant
  • You have hearing loss, ear pain, or dizziness
  • The noise is only in one ear or pulses with your heartbeat

Specialist tinnitus care can make a huge difference, helping you to gain a better understanding of what tinnitus is and the factors that affect it, getting better and worse. Having an assessment ensures that treatable causes are identified and effective strategies are introduced quickly.

How We Can Help

Our tinnitus service is designed around one goal: to help you understand your condition, reduce your symptoms, and restore peace of mind.

We provide:

  • Comprehensive tinnitus assessment using the latest diagnostic tools
  • Specialist ENT evaluation to identify underlying causes
  • Bespoke treatment plans tailored to your lifestyle, hearing profile, and goals
  • Ongoing care and digital support, including access to a leading tinnitus management app, Oto

We focus on empowering you with knowledge and effective tools to manage tinnitus day-to-day, helping you feel calm and confident again.

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the absence of an external source. It can present as ringing, humming, hissing, clicking, or pulsing, and may occur in one or both ears.

For some, tinnitus is mild and temporary, for others, it can be persistent and distressing. It’s estimated that 1 in 10 adults in the UK experience tinnitus, but only a small percentage require specialist care.

Common causes include:

  • Exposure to loud noise
  • Earwax blockage or ear infections
  • Age-related or sudden hearing loss
  • Stress or anxiety
  • Certain medications or medical conditions

The good news is that tinnitus can be managed effectively, and with specialist care, you can reduce its impact and regain control of your wellbeing.

Treating Your Tinnitus

Our clinic takes a multidisciplinary, patient-centred approach to tinnitus management. There’s no “one-size-fits-all” cure, but there are many ways to significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.

Depending on your needs, your treatment plan may include:

  • Sound therapy and tinnitus retraining to reprogram how your brain perceives sound
  • Hearing aids or masking devices to balance hearing and reduce tinnitus awareness
  • Cognitive and behavioural therapies to break the cycle of anxiety and focus on calm
  • Relaxation and mindfulness techniques to help reduce stress triggers
  • Lifestyle and sleep guidance, addressing factors that may worsen tinnitus

We combine clinical expertise with compassionate understanding, giving you practical, lasting relief rather than temporary reassurance.

All appointments are held at our Highfield Road clinic in Edgbaston, with the option for remote follow-ups if more convenient.
