• Medical history and lifestyle assessment
• Looking for any other factors in your lifestyle which may affect your chances of getting pregnant
• Basic measurement observations including height and weight
• Urine analysis, diabetes risk, anaemia risk and cardiovascular disease risk
• Thorough blood analysis to look at thyroid risk
• Detailed look at liver disease risk, kidney disease risk and cholesterol risk
• Blood tests to assess your hormone levels and confirm ovulation (to be taken on day 21 of your cycle).
• Ultrasound scan of the pelvis (this will take place on a different day, subject to sonographer availability)

Your Fertility Health Check Journey

To ensure the most accurate assessment of your fertility, your appointments will be arranged in the following order:

1. Days 1–5 of your menstrual cycle: You'll attend for your initial hormone blood tests, which are timed to the early part of your cycle to provide the most accurate results.
2. Day 21 of your menstrual cycle: You'll return for a progesterone blood test to confirm whether ovulation has occurred.
3. Pelvic ultrasound scan: Your ultrasound can be scheduled at any convenient time before your GP review appointment, subject to sonographer availability.
4. Fertility Health Check GP appointment: Once all of your test results have been received, you'll meet with one of our experienced GPs to review your results in detail. You'll receive a personalised fertility report, have the opportunity to discuss your reproductive health and fertility goals, and receive tailored advice on any recommended next steps.

It’s also an opportunity for you discuss anything that may be worrying or concerning you. Our GPs are great listeners and can offer you the right medical advice and help you live life better.

We are also able to organise sperm tests for male partners.
