Some of our Cantonese-speaking team includes our Senior Healthcare Assistant, Mike Tse, and Tiffany Yan, our sonographer.
Mike Tse, Senior Healthcare Assistant
Mike is a dedicated healthcare professional with a diverse background spanning emergency medical services and patient care. Holding a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from the City University of Hong Kong, Mike's academic prowess is complemented by a Diploma in Phlebotomy, Intravenous Cannulation, and Electrocardiogram Operation from the Hong Kong Society of Professional Medical Care. He is also armed with a multitude of certifications, including his Phlebotomist UK License and various medical endorsements such as Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care and Basic Life Support.
In his current role as a Phlebotomist and Healthcare Assistant at Midland Health, Birmingham, Mike conducts venipuncture, vital signs checks, and ECG testing while managing medical inventory and sample preparation for diverse assessments, including COVID PCR/Antigen testing. Before this, he provided compassionate care to older residents and vulnerable adults at GoldCare Home, Birmingham. Mike's experience extends to his time as an Ambulanceman/Emergency Medical Assistant with the Hong Kong Fire Services Department, where he delivered paramedic ambulance care to British Columbia standards and conducted pre-hospital care services.
With fluency in English and Cantonese, Mike brings a unique ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds. His skills include phlebotomy, ECG, IV cannulation, and first aid, making him a versatile asset in any healthcare setting.
Tiffany Yan, Sonographer
Tiffany is a skilled Radiographer and Sonographer with extensive experience in both fields. She graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a degree in Radiography and has since pursued further specialisation in ultrasound, fuelled by her research on thyroid ultrasound during her final year. With five years of experience as a radiographer across various medical settings in Hong Kong, including theatres, intensive care units, outpatient clinics, and wards, Tiffany has honed her expertise in medical imaging.
In 2017, Tiffany commenced her ultrasound training and subsequently completed a Master of Science in Medical Ultrasound at Monash University, ranked among the top 50 universities globally. Her ultrasound repertoire encompasses a wide range of specialities, including abdominal, gynaecological, testicular, thyroid, paediatric, obstetric, and vascular scanning. Since relocating to the UK in 2022, Tiffany has seamlessly transitioned into her ultrasound career, contributing her skills to both the NHS and private sectors. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, she ensures effective communication and patient care across diverse linguistic backgrounds.
