It is estimated that 79% of lung cancers are preventable, however, lung cancer is still the most common cause of cancer death in the UK. An Early CDT Lung test is used for the first detection of lung disease. The blood test measures for the presence of autoantibodies to tumor-associated antigens which are linked to lung cancer. The sooner lung disease is detected, the greater chances of successful treatment and recovery. In the event of a positive result, you may need to be referred for a further CT scan. With Midland Health, our experienced GP will be with you every step of the way.
The Early CDT Lung test is recommended routinely for heavy smokers over the age of 45. If you are concerned about your risk of lung disease, please book in for a consultation to discuss testing.
