The Challenge
When your child’s skin is constantly flaring, every day feels like a setback. For this family, persistent eczema was not only causing discomfort for their son, but making it difficult to move forward with dietary allergy ladders, a process that requires relative skin stability. There were also understandable concerns about the long-term use of topical steroids, and uncertainty about when progress would be made.
How Midland Health Helped
The consultation was with Dr Christos Kasparis at our Edgbaston Clinic. Dr Kasparis took a thorough medical history and gave time to hearing the parent’s concerns in full, including their reservations about the existing treatment approach. He provided a clear explanation of the condition and the options available, then put together a structured treatment plan along with a private prescription to reduce delays in getting medication.
Recognising that NHS waiting times can complicate ongoing management, Dr Kasparis also wrote directly to the family’s GP clinic to support them in obtaining an NHS prescription going forward.
Our Recommendations
- Practical advice on bathing routines and clothing to reduce irritation
- A robust, step-by-step treatment plan suited to the child’s age and presentation
- A private prescription to avoid delays in starting treatment
- A letter to the GP clinic to facilitate an NHS prescription

“Dr Kasparis was very kind and really took his time with my son’s medical history and my concerns over his current management. He was very good with my son.”
