My ADHD assessment was with Dr Rostamipour, the whole process was relaxed and he time to explain the diagnosis and how it was impacting my life. The medication has literally changed my life. Hopefully the future is looking a lot more settled and enjoyable. Thank you.

Who Should Consider An ADHD Assessment?

ADHD can affect your daily life in many different ways. Characterised by the inability to focus on the same task for a long period of time and lack of attention to detail, it often leads to problems with concentration, poor organisational skills and difficulties completing tasks on time. You may also experience frustration that results in angry outbursts or suffer from severe impatience.

This can have a negative impact on adults at work and children’s performance at school, as well as take a toll on interpersonal relationships at any age. If you or your child are experiencing any of these issues, you should consider seeing a specialist for an ADHD assessment. With Midland Health’s experts by your side, you won’t have to struggle alone; we’ll help you manage your condition at our private ADHD clinic.

Adults ADHD Assessments

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) commonly affects children; however, this neurological condition can last into adulthood. Many adults are affected by ADHD, with their symptoms affecting their work relationships to social interactions, even within their own home environment. Without a formal diagnosis, it can be difficult to understand why we have particular behavioural traits or find difficulty in situations where others do not. Therefore, at our private ADHD clinic, we offer adult ADHD assessments to help you receive some clarity into your traits and symptoms.

No matter how old you are, we can help you be formally tested for ADHD as well as other behavioural conditions. In addition to identifying your ADHD as an adult, our specialists will ensure you have the understanding and support you need to manage and treat your condition.

Please note that if you decide to stop your treatment and would like to reinitiate this at a later date, you may be required to book a New Consultation with one of our Consultant Psychiatrists. This is a 1 hour appointment with a fee of £650.

Adolescent ADHD Assessments

ADHD is normally presented within a child’s early years, but it is possible for signs to go unnoticed until adolescence. As ADHD cannot be determined through a physical test, our ADHD specialists are able to assess behavioural traits and measure particular metrics to confirm a diagnosis. With an understanding of your own adolescent ADHD, it is possible to ensure you are properly supported throughout your remaining education and into the beginning of your career. Many adults whose diagnosis went undetermined in the past, wish they understood their neurological condition sooner. At Midland Health, we can help you do just this through our private ADHD assessments.

Paediatric ADHD Assessments

If your child is showing signs of hyperactivity and signs of attention deficit, it is worth getting them assessed for ADHD. Most cases of ADHD present themselves within a child’s early years, and knowing sooner allows specific requirements to be in place to help your child as they grow and develop. Our paediatric ADHD assessments will assess your child’s continuous behaviour, taking the time to identify and understand their ADHD symptoms.

What if I already have a diagnosis of ADHD?

Our experienced Consultants will review your existing ADHD assessment and offer an ADHD consultation if appropriate. Our Psychiatrist will provide treatment consultations whether the diagnosis has been issued from a different clinic or country. Your report will be reviewed carefully and a consultation booked which will include your first prescription if appropriate. This appointment is carried out via video consultation or in person with one of our Psychiatrists. This option is suitable for those patients who have had an assessment elsewhere and want to start medication. This appointment will be booked after the review following the doctor's advice.

FAQ

Is it possible to get ADHD diagnosed privately?

Of course, at Midland Health, we offer private ADHD assessments at our clinic in Birmingham. Our specialist team is able to conduct gold standard interviews and computerised ADHD assessments to monitor and investigate behavioural traits in adults, adolescents and children.

Will the NHS accept privately diagnosed ADHD patients?

Yes, all diagnoses that have been confirmed by healthcare professionals are valid. Regardless of whether this diagnosis is made through the NHS or a private ADHD clinic, such as Midland Health, it is recognised by all.

Can I continue the treatment with the NHS?

We provide Shared Care Agreements (SCA) which give the option to continue treatment with your NHS GP.

All adults on SCA need a consultant review every 12 months to assess their suitability to continue taking medication.

If your child is under SCA our Consultant paediatrician will need to see the child every 6 months to assess their suitability to continue taking medication.

Can I arrange for my child to be assessed for ADHD privately?

At Midland Health, you can arrange for a paediatric ADHD assessment through our online booking form today. We do not require GP referrals and we have no waiting lists, simply select the most convenient time for you and our specialists will be able to help.

Would my NHS GP be able to continue prescribing my medication after my ADHD assessment and diagnosis?

Our psychiatrist will issue a report with your diagnosis and will commence and stabilise your medication. Once stable you may wish to request for your NHS GP to continue your medication under a share care prescribing agreement. It will be up to each GP to accept and issue your prescription. Our Consultant Psychiatrist can issue a shared care agreement but we would recommend you first check with your practice whether this is the sort of medication they would be happy to prescribe under a shared care agreement. We cannot guarantee that your practice will do this and in some areas your GP may well refer you to a local NHS Psychiatric service to take on that prescribing. We can of course continue the prescribing for you at Midland Health under the care of our Psychiatrist.
