How We Can Help

We offer a range of services to help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life.

  • Allergy Consultation: Our experienced allergists will conduct a thorough evaluation of your symptoms and medical history to determine the underlying cause of your allergies.
  • Skin Prick Appointments: During a skin prick test, we apply a small amount of allergen extracts to your skin and then prick the area. This helps us identify specific allergens that may be triggering your symptoms.
  • ALEX Test: The ALEX test is a blood test that can help identify specific allergens that may be causing your symptoms. It is particularly useful for individuals with severe allergies or those who cannot undergo skin prick testing.
  • TDL-Specific Allergens Test: This test is designed to identify specific allergens that may be causing delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions.

Please note: We do not offer allergy patch testing as part of our services.

Our goal is to provide you with the best possible care and help you live a healthier life.

What to Expect: Step-by-Step

Step 1. Consultation and Assessment

Our experienced allergist will conduct a thorough review of your medical history to gain a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms, family history, and potential allergen exposures. They may also inquire about any medications you're currently taking.

Step 2. Allergy Testing

Based on the information gathered, your allergist may recommend one or more of the following tests:

  • Skin Prick Test
  • Blood Test (ALEX Test)
  •  (TDL-Specific Allergens Test)

Important Note: For skin prick allergy tests, please avoid taking antihistamine medication for at least 3-4 days before your appointment to ensure accurate results.

Step 3. Allergy Diagnosis

Your allergist will carefully analyse the results of your tests to determine if you have allergies and, if so, to identify the specific allergens triggering your symptoms.

Step 4. Allergy Management Plan

If an allergy diagnosis is confirmed, Dr Thaker will develop a personalised allergy management plan tailored to your unique needs. This plan may include:

  • Allergen Avoidance Strategies
  • Medication Recommendations
  • Lifestyle Adjustments
  • Referral to a Specialist

Step 5. Care and Understanding

Dr Thaker will take the time to explain your diagnosis, treatment options, and how to effectively manage your allergies. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about your allergies and their treatment. By following these steps, we can work together to identify and manage your allergies, improving your quality of life and reducing your symptoms.

Who We Can Help

We are here to help all adults with their concerns about a pre-existing allergy or those worried about the recent development of an allergy. If any of the following sounds like you, please reach out to make an appointment.

  • Adults with Known Allergies: If you have been diagnosed with allergies like hay fever, food allergies, medication allergies, insect sting allergies, or environmental allergies (dust mites, mould, etc.), we can help you develop a personalised management plan.
  • Adults with Unexplained Symptoms: Do you experience unexplained symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, skin rashes, or digestive issues? If so, you may have an allergy. We offer a comprehensive evaluation to determine if this is the case.
  • Individuals with a Family History of Allergies: A family history of allergies increases your risk. We can provide testing and discuss preventive strategies to help you stay healthy.
  • Patients with Chronic Conditions Affected by Allergies: Allergies can exacerbate conditions like asthma, eczema, or chronic sinusitis. We offer specialised care to manage both your allergies and your other chronic conditions.
  • Adults Seeking Specialist Care: If you've already consulted with other doctors but are looking for more targeted allergy expertise or a second opinion, we can help.
  • Professionals Exposed to Allergens: Certain jobs like healthcare, gardening, farming, construction, or cleaning expose you to allergens. We can help develop strategies to manage work-related allergies.
  • Patients Looking for Personalised, High-Quality Care: We offer private healthcare with high-quality care, shorter waiting times, and access to specialised treatments and tests.
  • Adults Interested in Preventive Health: We can help you understand your allergy risks, develop a proactive approach to prevent future issues, and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

No matter your allergy concerns, we are here to help you.
